For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. What does God’s Word say about that? Peter says something very interesting in 2 Peter 1:16–18: “For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. He gives this emotional, “feel good” experience. When you do not have the peace of Christ, the devil gives you something in place of it. The underlying issue, with both of his great deceptions, is getting people to trust in feelings. Satan’s second method is a false Holy Spirit movement, a false Pentecostal experience based on feeling. To many minds, if something “miraculous” takes place, they believe it is a sign of God. Today, more than ever, people are putting their faith in miracles. What will his first deception be? Miracles. From these verses we see that the devil will instigate the enforcement of the mark of the beast. “And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” Revelation 13:13, 14. In Revelation 13, we read about the image to the beast. We will never fully understand the mysteries of God, but unless we are rooted and grounded in His love, we will not understand the dimensions of God’s love, or have Christ dwelling in our hearts by faith. Paul says in Ephesians 3:16–19, “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” What experience must we have? We must be strengthened by His Spirit, so that we can be rooted and grounded in love. ‘I made it beautiful with the multitude of its branches,Īnd all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God, were jealous of it.Our only safety is to be rooted and grounded in the love and strength of Christ. No tree in God’s garden could compare with it in its beauty. The cypresses could not compare with its boughs,Īnd the plane trees could not match its branches. ‘The cedars in God’s garden could not match it ‘So it was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches ‘All the birds of the heavens nested in its boughs,Īnd under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth,Īnd all great nations lived under its shade. ‘Therefore its height was loftier than all the trees of the fieldĪnd its boughs became many and its branches longīecause of many waters as it spread them out. With its rivers it continually extended all around its planting place,Īnd sent out its channels to all the trees of the field. ‘The waters made it grow, the deep made it high. With beautiful branches and forest shade, Behold, though it is planted, will it thrive? Will it not completely wither as soon as the east wind strikes it-wither on the beds where it grew?”’” It was planted in good soil beside abundant waters, that it might yield branches and bear fruit and become a splendid vine.”’ Say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Will it thrive? Will he not pull up its roots and cut off its fruit, so that it withers-so that all its sprouting leaves wither? And neither by great strength nor by many people can it be raised from its roots again. “But there was another great eagle with great wings and much plumage and behold, this vine bent its roots toward him and sent out its branches toward him from the beds where it was planted, that he might water it. So it became a vine and yielded shoots and sent out branches. Then it sprouted and became a low, spreading vine with its branches turned toward him, but its roots remained under it. He placed it beside abundant waters he set it like a willow. He also took some of the seed of the land and planted it in fertile soil. He plucked off the topmost of its young twigs and brought it to a land of merchants he set it in a city of traders. Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, “Son of man, propound a riddle and speak a parable to the house of Israel, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “A great eagle with great wings, long pinions and a full plumage of many colors came to Lebanon and took away the top of the cedar.
